        Available Sublets:

May 25, 2018
Hi everyone! My name is Tyler Lemon. I'm a PhD student in linguistics at UC Berkeley, and I've enrolled in 2nd-year Vietnamese for the summer. I wanted to let you know that I recently signed a lease for room 409A in Lucky Apartments, located at 777 University Avenue, Madison, WI 53715. Would anyone be interested in leasing 409B and being apartment mates with me? It's a furnished two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a living room and kitchen, located really close to the Mosse Humanities Building, where I understand that a lot of the language classes will be held. There's also a market located on the ground floor and various other amenities like laundry facilities, a sundeck, and a grilling area. I was able to modify my lease from being for three months over the summer to June 14-August 13, at a rate of $750/month. We also have to pay for electricity, a facility fee ($30/month), and renter's insurance if you don't have it ($13/month). Other utilities are included unless we also want cable TV and/or a phone line. As an apartment mate, I'm very communicative, pretty neat, and enjoy having friends over and going out for dinner and drinks. If you're interested, you can email me at the address given, and you can contact the building to get information directly from them about the apartment.

If you are looking to live with other students in SEASSI and would like to be super close (3-5 mins walk) to the state capitol/James Madison park/downtown then this apartment is a great fit. Lots of fun/hip places close by. My roommates and I are all graduate students who will be gone for the summer. We will be subletting 3 out of the 4 rooms in our house. We have 2 refurbished bathrooms and a remodeled kitchen as well. Laundry is in the apartment so no need to go outside or pay. Bus lines super close. 25-30 minute walk to campus. 10-15 minute bike/bus ride. Each room will be 550 per month (including utilities). We are willing to negotiate.

Hello! I am a graduate student in Asian Languages and Cultures, and I wanted to write to you about a possible summer sublet for SEASSI students. I am leaving Madison for the summer, and my roommates are looking for a subletter. My roommates are two female, music-loving, internationally-minded professionals looking for a third roommate. The rent is $570 + utilities, which would be around $600 per month. They have previously lived with someone in one of the intensive programs and had a great time for that summer.

Do you or does anyone you know need housing in Madison for the summer? Ideal opportunity for summer language students! I'm a UW Madison Ph.D. student and an alumnus of both SASLI (Sinhala, 2014 and 2015) and SEASSI (Thai, 2017). I'm looking to sublet my master bedroom in a large, comfortable house in the Vilas neighborhood right next to the zoo/ZuZu Cafi ? Appx 1 mile south of campus near the corner of S. Randall Ave. and Drake St. ? Close to bus stops for the 4, 6, 7, and 44 routes. ? An easy walk/bus/bike ride to your language classes, Trader Joes grocery store, cafes, parks, lakes, and restaurants! ? Free driveway and street parking. Ideally, I?d need a subletter from appx. June 1st to August 15th, but dates are flexible (for Madison students/residents, there is a possibility of joining the lease for next year). You'll share the house with four super awesome, queer?affirming UW physics and math grad students of different genders and two, maybe three affectionate kitties. Meow! Please share with anyone who may be interested, and invite them to contact me at or

My name is Magnolia and I am PhD student in Critical Dance Studies from UCR who will be studying Hmong at SEASSI this summer. I am interested in subletting from mid-June to mid-August (9 weeks). I will not have a car for the summer so anything walking distance to campus is preferred. I am looking for a place that is furnished and prefer a studio/one bedroom apartment, but am open to sharing a multiple bedroom space with others, preferably with other females. Also, I am open to finding a roommate and if interested, please email me as well. I am clean and organized, mindful, respectful and sensible to and know how to respond well to different spaces and energies. I value reciprocity and kindness. Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi. I'm looking for a sublet walking distance from the campus. I'm attending the summer language program for Tagalog. I'm an older student, non-smoker and I don't mind pets. It would be great to find another student who's learning Tagalog, but I'm not picky. I'll pay my total amount for the lease up front. I will arrive on June 12 and leave August 13.

Hello! I'm an OSU PhD student attending SEASSI for 2nd year Khmer this summer. I'm hoping to find a studio sublet for myself and my sweet, low-energy, well-behaved (and ridiculously adorable) elderly puggle mix Annie. We're both quiet, tidy non-smokers. :) We're planning a trip out to Madison to see places the end of April/beginning of May. Please let me know if this sounds like a good fit. Thank you/Ah kuun, Jenny

Hi everyone, my name is Q. I'm attending SEASSI to study 2nd year Thai this summer. I'm looking for a roommate to search for sublets with. I'm a queer woman, relatively clean, and easy to get along with. I tend to be on the quieter side but I open up to people easily. I'd love to meet you! What else about me? I'm a non-smoker, I like exploring the city walking, and I am a light sleeper. Ideally, I'd like a room that is close to classes. Please message me if you are interested in being roommates or if you have a sublet that is available for rent! Thank you!

Hello Everyone, My name is Nam Hoang. I will be studying Vietnamese over the summer as part of the SEASSI program at UW Madison between June 18th and Aug 10th. I am looking for roommate who is ideally part of the same program and studying the same language as me to search together for a summer sublease around this date. I am an independent, easy-going, and liberal minded person. I don?t smoke and enjoy occasional drinks here and there. I am also fairly clean and like meeting new people. My rent range is $550 - $675/month, and I am hoping to find a hip place within walking distance to the school. Please introduce yourself if you want to be roommates with me, or please feel free to get in touch with me if you know of a summer sublease that fits most of these descriptions. Also, if you?re part of the same program, please feel to pop me an email as well. Like I said, I love getting to know new people! Sincerely, Nam Hoang
