All About SEASSI
Each language course is equivalent to two semesters of study, with full academic year credit.
Instruction is given in small individualized groups taught by a team consisting of a coordinator (usually a linguist specializing in Southeast Asian language pedagogy) and teachers who are native speakers of that language.
Instruction is intensive. Students will receive 8 credits and a letter grade (A-F) after completing the program.
SEASSI participants must complete both 4-week sessions for a total of 8 weeks during the summer program. Classes are held from 8am to 12:30pm, Mondays-Fridays. Most students find that they spend an additional three to four hours per day on homework.
SEASSI is proud to have such a long history within the Southeast Asian Languages and Less Commonly Taught Languages communities!
