Don’t miss out on the chance to make new friends during SEASSI’s “Virtual Academic (and Non-Academic) Social Hour!” from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 26th.
One valuable feature of SEASSI has always been that it often provides opportunities to meet people with similar interests who may be studying a different language. But this kind of interaction doesn’t arise quite so easily when many of us are participating in the program online.
In this event, we’ll gather in one big Zoom room and then you’ll choose to join one of a number of breakout rooms organized around different interests, where you’ll get a chance to introduce yourselves to each other. We’ll do this for 15-30 minutes at a time, then reconvene and break out again into a new set of rooms. Some rooms will be based on academic disciplines while others will be based on hobbies and more general interests.
Please email smlaronga@wisc.edu if you have any ideas for a breakout room theme, and hopefully we will discover that there are some other people who want to talk about it!
